Bonafique & Yuvèe Land Hypnotic 'Terapia' EP on Crosstown Rebels

Dopamine Machine Records · June 12, 2026

Israeli duo Bonafique and Yuvèe have made their Crosstown Rebels debut with Terapia, a three-track EP that landed on June 5 and arrives with a remix from Josh Baker — his own first appearance on the imprint. For a label that has operated as one of the UK underground's more consistent homes for deep and tech house since 2006, the pairing is well-matched. The record does not overreach, and it does not need to.

"Profill": Tech House Tension at a Controlled Pace

The lead cut, "Profill," is the kind of tech house record that earns its runtime by refusing to hurry. The groove locks in within the first 32 bars and holds its shape for the remainder of the track. Bonafique and Yuvèe are working in a register that prizes textural restraint — the low-end sits with consistent pressure without becoming heavy, the percussion is forward in the mix without crowding the space around it. The result is a track that functions well mid-set without demanding to be the peak.

The duo's range was clear from their release earlier this year on Get Physical Music — "WHAT!" was a harder, more direct cut that caught attention at Day Zero Tulum and flagged their name to a wider circuit. "Profill" is the more considered follow-up: less initial impact, more sustained tension. A DJ's record rather than a room-stopper.

Josh Baker's Remix: Tech House Peak-Time Ready

Josh Baker's remix of "Profill" reshapes the original into something better suited for the sharper end of a set. Baker, who runs the well-regarded You&Me imprint and has spent the past two years developing one of the more coherent tech house aesthetics among his generation, injects spiraling melodic elements and controlled rhythmic pressure while keeping the hypnotic core of the source material intact. That this is his Crosstown Rebels debut is worth noting — Damian Lazarus's label does not bring in remixers as brand decoration, and Baker's inclusion here suggests a longer-term relationship may be developing.

The remix leans slightly more melodic than the original without crossing into melodic house territory. It gives a DJ two genuinely distinct options from a single record: the original for a deeper, more patient hour; the remix when the room is ready to push. That kind of practical versatility is undervalued in club music and Bonafique and Yuvèe have delivered it here without compromising either version.

Terapia: The Title Track

The third cut, "Terapia," strips things back further still. A solo Bonafique excursion, it unspools through atmospheric layers and evolving rhythmic detail that accumulates gradually without ever fully releasing. The mood is denser and more introspective than "Profill" — better suited to an early-morning outdoor stage than a peak-time room. Its placement at the end of the EP gives the record a natural arc: tension builds through "Profill," resolves slightly through Baker's remix, then settles into the weighted atmosphere of "Terapia." It is a closer that earns its position rather than simply filling the B2 slot.

Crosstown Rebels and the Underground Tech House Pipeline

Crosstown Rebels has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of underground credibility and commercial sustainability — a label that has consistently signed artists who can hold both without collapsing into one or the other. The Terapia EP fits comfortably in the label's deeper, more patient aesthetic: the same register occupied by earlier Crosstown releases from Fur Coat, Matt Tolfrey, and Rodriguez Jr. That Bonafique and Yuvèe have landed here, rather than on a more trend-driven imprint, says something meaningful about the direction they are moving in.

The duo has built real momentum through 2025 and into 2026. Their work has been appearing in sets across the Ibiza underground circuit, and the Get Physical release earlier this year confirmed their reach beyond the Israeli scene where they developed their sound. The Crosstown Rebels debut consolidates that trajectory without rushing it.

A Purposeful Debut on the Right Label

Three tracks, clean execution, and a smart remix choice from a producer who fits the brief. The Terapia EP is a confident, purposeful club release from two producers who understand that sustained groove is more valuable than spectacle — and that the right label can amplify that approach rather than dilute it. Expect to hear both "Profill" and the Baker remix working their way into sets across the summer.

The EP is available on Beatport and Rough Trade.
