GALA 2027 Announces First Lineup: ‘The House We Keep’ Brings Deep House Legends to Peckham

Dopamine Machine · October 22, 2026

London’s outdoor festival circuit has no shortage of big-tent moments, but few events wear their convictions as openly as GALA. The Peckham Rye Park weekender has built its reputation on programming that treats house music as a living lineage, not a nostalgic checkbox — and the first artist announcement for the 2027 edition suggests that philosophy hasn’t softened one bit.

The Theme: ‘The House We Keep’

GALA 2027 runs May 28–30 at Peckham Rye Park, South London. The overarching theme is ‘The House We Keep’ — a deliberate nod to the music’s Chicago and Detroit roots and a statement of curatorial intent. Rather than chasing algorithmic trending acts, the festival is leaning into the deep-house continuum: the DJs and producers who have spent decades threading together the spiritual, physical, and communal threads that define the genre.

Pre-registration for tickets is now open via the official GALA website, with the full lineup building toward a May 2027 onsale.

First Wave Headliners and Key Bookings

Four Tet tops the announcement — a booking that needs little justification. Kieran Hebden’s sets have evolved into something genuinely singular over the past decade: patient, emotionally direct, capable of holding a crowd for hours without resorting to obvious climax structures. His GALA appearance will be one of the most anticipated sets of the festival season.

Beneath him, the lineup reads like a who’s-who of house’s living elders and their direct successors. Chez Damier, one of the founding figures of Detroit deep house and co-founder of the foundational Kaoz Theory label, brings a rare European festival appearance. Soichi Terada, the Japanese house pioneer whose Far East Recording catalogue has taken on almost mythological status since its reissue run, is another announcement that underscores GALA’s curatorial depth.

Gene On Earth continues his ascent — the Manchester-based producer has spent the past two years releasing music that slots perfectly into the late-night, deep-groove space GALA occupies. DJ Harvey headlines the dedicated GALA Pleasure Dome stage, maintaining his position as one of the most in-demand selectors for festival environments willing to let sets breathe.

Deep Cuts and Rising Names

The announcement extends well beyond the headliners. Hunee and Antal, the Amsterdam duo behind Rush Hour Records, bring their characteristically eclectic approach. Tama Sumo and Lakuti — Berlin’s Kwia collective at its most essential — appear together, as do Moxie, HAAi, and Angel D’lite, three artists who have collectively helped reshape what a UK house set sounds like in 2026.

Shy FX and Blawan represent the darker, more percussive end of the spectrum. Prosumer returns — reliably one of the most emotionally generous selectors on any lineup. Louise Chen, Skin On Skin, Ogazón & Ryan Elliott, Peach, Introspekt, Verraco, and Benji B round out a first wave that already covers more ground than most festivals manage across their full bills.

Stage Partners: Deviation, HVYWGHT, ADONIS

Three stage partnerships have been confirmed alongside the main GALA programme. Deviation, the long-running south London party known for merging UK sounds with global club music, takes a stage alongside HVYWGHT and ADONIS — both promoters with strong followings in the UK underground. The involvement of these collectives suggests individual stages with their own sonic identities, rather than a single house-music monoculture.

Why This Announcement Matters

At a moment when the festival market is under genuine financial pressure — mid-tier events have been folding across Europe throughout 2025 and 2026 — GALA continues to invest in programming built on genuine knowledge of the music. The ‘The House We Keep’ framing isn’t just a tagline; it’s an argument about what a festival owes its audience: context, depth, and a curatorial vision that respects the lineage it’s drawing from.

With pre-registration open now, and the full lineup still to come, GALA 2027 is already one of the most-watched announcements in the UK festival calendar.
